Centrifuge Models, Maintenance, and Operation

Using SOLIDWORKS, I modeled the 15 g-ton and 400 g-ton centrifuges at the Center for Infrastructure, Energy, and Space Testing (CIEST). I modeled the centrifuges to provide a better sense of how and if test specimen fit on the platforms., which reduced prep time.
At CIEST, I was responsible for maintaining both centrifuges and assisting with controls during flight. Maintenance tasks included, but were not limited to, tightening spacers in the arm, greasing bearings, and monitoring brake pads. During constant g flight, the temperature, balance, webcams, and g-level were closely monitored.

The following photos show the 15 g-ton and 400 g-ton centrifuges and renders of the models I created in SOLIDWORKS.
