Drill Powered Tricycle
Where: University of Colorado Boulder
For: Component Design (MCEN 3025)
I worked with four others to design and fabricate a drill powered tricycle. The tricycle was designed for endurance and achieve maximum balance, as relatively low speed was expected. This project was tasked in MCEN 3025.
As the Manufacturing Engineer, I was responsible for coordinating all fabrication required and reviewing components with machine shop supervisors prior to fabrication. Other contributions I made to the project include milling the drive shaft, drill base, and steering column supports and modifying the sprocket with a lathe to ensure proper meshing between its teeth and the bike chain. Lastly, I helped design the tricycle in SOLIDWORKS and created the 3D render pictured.
My team's final report at the end of the semester is attached below.
